Cinder Summit Advancement Mobility and High Angle Mountain course is designed to greatly increase the operator’s knowledge and ability to safely navigate and move through mountainous terrain via off road vehicle platform and, while dismounted, utilizing advanced mountaineering techniques to overcome high angle obstacles.
Collectively, we have taken over 70 years combined operational experiences to generate progressive modular scenario-based training to meet the needs of current operational teams. The course is designed to expose students to the varied and rugged geography of a mountainous environment along with its unique wind and weather patterns that can affect route selection and mission planning. Students will be taught vehicle recovery, field expedient repairs, and off-road driving skills in a variety of terrain such as lowland swamps, high mountain ridges, valleys, swift water crossings, mud, and rocks.
High Angle training will provide students the knowledge and experience to properly tie 11 knots essential for mountain operations, identification of hazards, anchor points, installation of temporary protection anchors, and ascend/descend techniques. A culmination FTX will require teams to implement all of these skills in a mission-based scenario.
